BuMmER

After the most pleasurable Christmas party we had last night, I hit the sack with no more than a "bedroom" voice from still trying to sing with a very very sore throat. I woke up in chills, headache and abdominal and back pain! Full blown flu!

Bummer.

In an instant I found myself crying. Not because I feel self-pity being sick and very cold and not having someone to hug me or make me chicken soup. Not because I'm losing another $--- for calling in. No, no, no!

It's because I'm scheduled to leave for Lake Tahoe tomorrow and I won't be able to enjoy it if I'm sick! Am I going to be stuck in the hotel room while everbody else is off skiing????? No way!

I'm not feeling any better, well, minus the chills. I hope things change by tomorrow..........

SeNTi

Hay, pasko na naman pala. Parang hindi ko maramdaman.... nakakalungkot........nakakamiss.....nakakabaliw.

Kelan kaya ako magpapasko ulit sa Pinas? With the traditional simbang gabi, bibingka, puto bungbong, noche buena and caroling!

Hay, pasko na naman......me pasok pa rin ako. Ang hirap naman.

It's Christmastime

But it doesn't feel like Christmas.....

No after-office mad dash to the mall day after day after day for gifts for my numerous family, friends, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

No liesurely walk from the Buendia office to G4 and experiencing the awe of witnessing the offices and buildings put up their Christmas decor.

No frantic collecting of coins to give the Christmas carolers every night.

No Christmas Bonus.......No 13th month pay.

No Honey.

I miss Christmas Philippines style.....I miss home.

Finally,I can blog again!!!! This security setting stuff is driving me crazy!

Guacamole

The tilte is misleading.....let me explain

As a Filipino, I grew up knowing that avocado is a very creamy and delicious dessert. Who can ever resist sweet avocados with milk and sugar?

But in Texas (I guess everywhere else in the US), avocados are side dishes, salad toppers and never, never dessert! Don't get me wrong, I love guacamole, that is avocados mixed with tomatoes, onions and a few more relishes. But I still want my dessert!

So, to curb my craving, I bought four (very small) avocados. They're not ripe yet so I had to wait a few more days. 2 days passed and still, they're not ripe yet! So I decided to just go for it and try it sans everything but salt and pepper (as one of my patients recommended). Surprise, surpise...I actually enjoyed it!

So, this is now a new addition to my (just discovered) favorite things, along with black cherries.

On a similar "craving" note:
